The Man Who Shot WeeGee

Dateline : Monmouth Wales 5th August 2009 11.03

'This is a portrait of the photographer, Richard Sadler at the home of his partner, Sue in Monmouth, where they both live. Sue who collects stuffed animals, birds and bones. The title refers to Richard's photograph of WeeGee, which is on the wall. Richard is one of the UK's most respected 'photographers photographer' and was responsible for finding some lost work by Bill Brandt and he became an archivist of the work that was published in a new book. A friend of many including Brandt, Minor White and many of the 20th Century's greatest photographers, Richard is a valuable resource on the history of photography and a great personal friend whom I have known for nearly 40 years.'
