"When seeking clarification to myself about the work involved in Morphenia, I knew that Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness would help me. I have been a prolific dreamer, forever it seems. Virtually every night I dreamÉmost are anxiety driven, many are collages of snapshots taken from casual observations, fragmented words form conversations, spoken or heard, montages of symbolic gestures, variants on an allegory of mixed metaphors. The night can seem an endless journey until the sudden sweat drenched awakening, emerging into a real world from a world that is often inexplicable.
Morphenia welcomes an audience into this world, sharing with them the essence that Conrad describes so well. This world became more of a safe haven for me while under going treatment for cancer. Morphenia is about change, the change in my own body through invasion then surgery."
